My choices for fillet knife handles are Dymondwood, Micarta, Kirinite and stabilized wood. These materials are very durable, attractive, and resistant to water. Many color combinations are available. For hunting knives, I also use a wide variety of woods including ironwood, maple, rosewood, zebrawood, zircote, bocote, and others. I also use bone and antler. Handles are expoxied and pinned to the tang. Guards can be made from brass or stainless steel.
